The Nordic Summer Academy for Artistic Research (SAAR) will take place 12–18.8.2019 in Norway, on the island of
Utøya. It will be organized by the
Norwegian Artistic Research Programme (Diku). SAAR is a joint Nordic project between the partner countries Finland, Sweden and Norway.
SAAR 2019 will bring together up to 18 artistic researchers and 9 supervisors for an intense and stimulating week in August. In Sweden, Finland and Norway each institution decides how to select the Doctoral students and supervisors. The deadline within the network for signing in them is by the 1st of April 2019.
The SAAR network is coordinated by the University of the Arts Helsinki and governed by a joint Nordic Steering Group. This year, Ellen J Røed has been appointed to develop of the programme, in close collaboration with supervisors Frank Bock and Karmenlara Ely. Røed was also in charge of SAAR 2016 which took place in Tromsø.
